What does Auto CAD mean?
Auto CAD is a computer-aided design (CAD) program used for 2-D and 3-D design and drafting. Auto CAD is developed and marketed by Auto desk Inc. and was one of the initial CAD programs that could be executed on personal computers.
History of Auto CAD explains
Auto CAD was initially derived from a program called Interact, which was written in a proprietary language. The first release of the software used only primitive entities such as polygons, circles, lines, arcs and text to construct complex objects. Later, it came to support custom objects through a C++ application programming interface. The modern version of the software includes a full set of tools for solid modeling and 3-D. Auto CAD also supports numerous application program interfaces for automation and customization.
Auto CAD is available since 1982 as a desktop application and since 2010 as a mobile web- and cloud-based application, which is marketed as Auto CAD 360.
Auto CAD is first developed and released in the year December 1982, this software has been marketed in its eighteenth generation in its original form by auto desk founder “JOHN WALKER”
From the year 1986 Auto CAD has became the most important design program in the worldwide. the introduction of CAD programes, they ran on mainframe computers which are even called as mini computers.
Auto CAD is used across a range of industries, including architects, project managers and engineers, among other professions, with 750 training centers established worldwide as of 1994.
Till now Auto CAD has introduced 15 versions from the year 1982. Auto-CAD 2014 and Auto CAD LT 2014 are available for English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese.. etc.. and even they are going to develop in some more languages like Russian, Czech etc..
DWG (drawing) is the native file format for Auto-CAD and a basic standard for CAD data interoperability. The software has also provided support for Design Web Format (DWF), a format developed by Auto desk for publishing CAD data.
Eligibility Criteria
- Auto CAD training course can be tailored for students ranging from first-time programmers to experienced design oriented developers seeking to learn Auto CAD and it is strongly recommended that all course attendees have similar levels of experience.
- Eligibility Criteria: Graduate in B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech ( MECHANICAL, AUTOMOBILE, CIVIL, ELECTRICAL) / any one
CAD is used as follows:
- To produce detailed engineering designs through 3-D and 2-D drawings of the physical components of manufactured products.
- To create conceptual design, product layout, strength and dynamic analysis of assembly and the manufacturing processes themselves.
- To prepare environmental impact reports, in which computer-aided designs are used in photographs to produce a rendering of the appearance when the new structures are built.
